Dr. Kahlil, born Kahlil Justin Martin, hails from the vibrant city of Philadelphia. His name, a tribute to the iconic Lebanese American poet, carries the essence of friendship and humanity. For Dr. Kahlil, the name represents more than just a title; it is a reflection of his identity. “The further you get from my first name, the farther you get from who I am,” he often emphasizes.
His academic journey began at Morehouse College. There, he pursued a Bachelor of Science in Biology, graduating with honors—Magna Cum Laude. In 2000, he proudly became a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Academic Society, receiving a unanimous nomination. These early achievements laid the foundation for his ambitious path ahead.
Transitioning from the red clay of Atlanta to the world of medicine, Dr. Kahlil accepted the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) grant at Baylor College of Medicine. It was here that he immersed himself in the intricate dynamics of Neuroscience, focusing on the “Overexpression of Neurotrophin-3 and Functional Plasticity of the Corticospinal Tract (CST).” After earning his M.D., he embarked on a residency in General Surgery, further honing his skills in the Bobby Alford Department of Otolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Kahlil’s professional milestones extend into various healthcare settings. He has served multiple Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) hospital systems and Comprehensive Dialysis Access Centers (CDAC) in Houston, Texas, showcasing his versatility as a generalist and interventionalist.
Now, Dr. Kahlil joins forces with the innovative team at Pinpoint Medical in Houston, Texas. In this collaboration, he commits to a shared vision: delivering “Excellence in Service to the Underserved Federal Laborer.” With an unwavering belief in serving injured federal workers, Dr. Kahlil continues to embody his namesake’s spirit, striving to uplift and support those in need.
