Question 1

Who treats injured federal employees' workers' compensation injuries in Houston?

Accepted Answer

Pinpoint Medical, PLLC evaluates and treats injured federal employees at two Greater Houston locations: Bellaire Park (6575 West Loop South, Suite 110, Bellaire, TX 77401) and Interwood (15109 Heathrow Forest Parkway, Suite 130, Houston, TX 77032). The clinical team includes Dr. James C. Lai, Dr. Mary C. Stone, Dr. Chika Ihejiene, and Tawana Raymond, NP.

Question 2

Where can I get a functional capacity evaluation (FCE) in Houston?

Accepted Answer

Pinpoint Medical performs Functional Capacity Evaluations in Greater Houston by appointment. An FCE is a structured assessment of physical abilities and functional limitations, and the findings are documented for the referring physician, claims staff, or agency. Call (281) 962-7520 to begin.

Question 3

Which doctor should I see for a Department of Labor FECA claim injury in Houston?

Accepted Answer

Choosing a treating physician is your decision. Pinpoint Medical's physicians—Dr. James C. Lai (Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology), Dr. Mary C. Stone and Dr. Chika Ihejiene (Emergency Medicine)—evaluate injured federal employees and document findings for the DOL process. Claim authorization remains with the U.S. Department of Labor, not the practice.

Question 4

What does return-to-work support include?

Accepted Answer

Return-to-work support includes individualized work restrictions, work-status assessment, and planning for a safe return to duty, documented so the employing agency and claims staff can act on it. Restrictions reflect examination findings and functional capacity—not employer or employee preference.

Question 5

Is Pinpoint Medical affiliated with the Department of Labor or OWCP?

Accepted Answer

No. Pinpoint Medical, PLLC is a privately owned medical practice and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the U.S. Department of Labor, OWCP, or any federal agency. Decisions about claim acceptance, medical authorization, compensation, and benefits are made exclusively by the U.S. Department of Labor.
